RFID in Chips
When RFID microchips are installed in a gaming chip, plaque or jeton, they provide you with a secure, reliable way to verify the chip’s authenticity and to track and record its movement throughout your casino.
Because each RFID-enabled casino chip, plaque or jeton has a unique tag that is encoded with its monetary value, it can be instantly identified and validated when it comes in contact with an RFID reader. This makes RFID currency an ideal way to improve the accuracy of chip counting and cage inventory procedures while also providing you with a level of currency security that is practically impossible to breach.
Because each RFID frequency option provides unique benefits, it is important to choose the best fit for your casino, and we will work with you to identify your best solution.
- Low frequency (125 KHz) RFID chips are ideal for counting, tracking, authentication, inventory and security purposes.
- High frequency (13.56 MHz) chips combine all the features of low frequency chips with sophisticated player tracking capabilities – and can interface with your casino management system.
Your gaming chips are one of your most valuable assets, and we offer the most durable, reliable RFID gaming chips available. By embedding each RFID microchip within an enclosed disk, our RFID chips:
- Offer a high level of shock resistance
- Are protected from external vibrations and centrifugal forces
- Cannot be removed without being destroyed
In comparison, non-GPI RFID casino chips are generally installed underneath the decal, making them vulnerable to:
- Electronic contact rupture if the decal is peeled back
- RFID tag destruction / damage when chips are “banged” together or hit with another chip
- Deactivation when scraped with a fingernail
