Bud Jones® is a brand name of Gaming Partners International®,
USA, or GPI® USA.
The Bud Jones value chips were the first plastic injection-molded
chips on the market.
For over 40 years, the Bud Jones chips have demonstrated
their ability by being great to handle and by being extremely
durable. All of the chips are made by GPI USA in Las Vegas.
GPI USA sells Bud Jones chips directly to casinos in North
America and the Caribbean Islands. GPI SAS office based in
France is the exclusive distributor for all other countries.
Bud Jones chips have been sold all over the world because
of the quality of the plastic injection. The hard plastic
makes the chips longer lasting and virtually indestructible.
They are made with bright colors and have a very smooth surface.
Each Bud Jones chip is made in such a way that each chip will
look identical to the next. Weighing between 8.3 and 12.3
grams and containing a beveled edge, Bud Jones chips are easy
to handle. V6 and V7 are two lines of Bud Jones value chips.
BUD JONES® V7 CHIPS
V7 chips are the most popular line of Bud Jones chips and
are the heaviest weighted chip thanks to a heavy embedded
metal insert. The 39mm V7 chip weighs 12.3 grams. In order
to choose a V7 Bud Jones chip, printing process and security
features must be selected: size of the chip, pattern, color
combination, size of decal, printing process, and security
features.
V7 chips are available in five sizes: 39mm, 41mm, 43mm, 45mm
and 50mm.
With over 200 different patterns available and varying edge
designs, Bud Jones V7 chips offer a large range from which
to customize any chip bank.
A V7 from Bud Jones can be a two, three or even four color
chip.
Each of the chips has a decal center. The decal is available
in three diameters, A, B and C, A being the most popular.

The decals of a V7 chip are printed in one of two ways.
- Transfer printing decals are the traditional line of décor.
A special multicolor process can screen print a design in
one to five different colors on a white decal.
- Four-color process is the recent line. The four-color
process enables the duplication of colors, pictures, and
elaborate drawings. With an experienced art department in
Las Vegas, any state-of-the-art decal can be designed.

The V7 value chip is available in many patterns.
V7 Bud Jones® chips are made out of an inner ring and
an outer ring.
In order to create a custom chip, the customer must choose
from seven different outer rings and 13 inner rings.
There are four different outer rings with four inserts, two
outer rings with eight inserts and one with no inserts. Each
outer ring has a different edge logo between the inserts.
The inserts can be plain, split, or double split.
All inner rings are available in three different ranges.

RANGE A: Inner ring with four identical symbols and
a value with a dollar sign.
RANGE B: Inner ring with four identical symbols.
RANGE C: Inner ring with four identical symbols and
a value with no currency sign.
Each chip codification is three letters, first letter for
the outer ring, second and third letter for the chip range
and the inner ring.
BUD JONES® V6 CHIP MOLD CHART (Click to view)
V6 chips are a special range of chips for casinos that prefer
lighter weight chips. They weigh 10.5 to 11.5 grams and are
available in two diameters: 39mm and 43mm. 43mm chips are
available in patterns H and I. V6 chips with two color injection
are available in all 11 different patterns, and V6 with three
color injection are available with three different patterns.
V6 has one decal size, “A”.
BUD JONES® CHIP COLOR CHART (Click to view)
Bud Jones® V6 and V7 chips are available in 40 colors.
These printed colors are a close representation only and may
vary on the finished chip. To help in the selection of chip
colors, the “puzzle kit” enables customers to try
and test any color combination.
BUD JONES® Hot Stamped Chips
The Bud Jones® brand of chips also has solid color chips
that can be used for the lowest denomination of the chip bank.
These single color chips are hot stamped thanks to a customized
die. The text is printed in one color, standard color is gold,
but any color can be chosen if desired.
BUD JONES® Roulette Chips
Bud Jones roulette chips, R4, are available in the 39mm size
with an inlay that is printed with a roulette logo. There
are 41 standard roulette logos from which to choose. Each
chip has a customized mold that creates a groove on both sides.

BUD JONES® SECURITY FEATURES
Making Bud Jones® chips more secure in order to prevent
counterfeiting is vital to GPI® USA. GPI USA has a goal
to make
value chips as safe as possible. To accomplish this goal,
the R&D
department has tested and integrated some of the latest technology
into Bud Jones chips, making the chips safer.
Bud Jones chips offer a large choice of security features
both on the
decal and in the chip.
ON THE DECAL:
UV PIGMENTS (Click to view)
Ultraviolet pigments can be added to the print work on the
decal in two ways:
- Mixed with the gold and silver color print that will glow
green under a UV light.
- Invisible printing that will be revealed in light blue
only under a UV light.
LASER LOCK MATERIAL (Click to view)
Laser Lock, developed by Laser Lock Technologies Inc, is a
patented product developed to make products safer. Laser Lock
components are mixed with the ink and are revealed in green
under an invisible laser beam sent by a special pen.

ELP PIGMENT (Click

Electro Luminescent Pigments can be added during the molding
injection into the second or the third color of the chip.
Under a UV light, the ELP pigments are revealed in the inner
ring or on the edge spots.
EDGE LOGO (Click

Thanks to a high-tech injection-molding machine and a highly
precise tooling machine, Bud Jones® V7 chips can have
edge logos. These edge logos can be standard or customized.
SMARTCHIP™ (Click

Bud Jones chips has developed Smartchip™. This is a Bud
Jones V7 chip with an embedded RFID. It allows, with proper
reading equipment, a large number of highly secure, reliable,
and high-return application systems for table management and
chip tracking.
